Banca delle Marche S.p.A is an important commercial Bank of Central Italy. It is a joint-stock Company, whose share capital is publicly-owned by 51% and in private hands by 49%.
Banca Marche has over 250 branches: most of them are located in Marche, a region of Central Italy, where the Bank has its traditional stronghold; the Bank is also well-represented in several major towns of Central Italy, like Rome, Bologna, Perugia and their hinterland.
The Bank is active in an area where most Companies are either small or medium sized, it is therefore oriented to this type of clientele, who import/export all over the world. The Bank is well-equipped to meet customers’needs by offering a wide-range of trade finance products: letters of credit and guarantees, clean payments, documentary collections, currency activity, import and export financing etc. Results are indeed satisfactory, because the Bank ranges first in trade finance transactions in the Marche region.
Being fully aware of the importance and the perspectives of the Chinese market for the clientele, both for import and export transactions, the Bank has set up correspondence agreements with a considerable number of Chinese Banks: Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, Guangdong Development Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Nanyang Commercial Bank, to quote but a few.
The Bank furthermore believes that, over and above contacts at institutional level, opportunities must be created for entrepreneurs to meet and discuss ideas of common interest with their Chinese counterparts: it has therefore supported the COSMEC project right from its inception.
